Key responsibilities

1 Deputise for the CPO, as required and necessary.

1 Work in such a way to ensure that all processes and actions taken by the HRM, together with direct reports, take into account the highly confidential nature of the department, together with the Company values.

1 Introduce new ideas and initiatives that will help the department with continuous improvement – whilst ensuring that there is not change for change sake.

1 Positively challenge colleagues and be challenged by others.

1 Oversee processes regarding eligibility to work in the UK, ensuring that the HR team, and those with such responsibilities at Site-level, are compliant with legislation and Company process.

1 Work with the CPO, others, or by yourself, on tasks and projects to ensure that actions and results support the People strategy.

1 Work as a Business Partner and, where appropriate, be an active member of a designated area’s Management Team (Site/s and/or HO), advising on employee relations, organisational structure, change, development and tactics for growth.

1 Provide generalist HR support to managers and staff, planning and supporting business objectives through effective HR practise across the organisation.

1 Ensure that those reporting to the HRM have skills and competencies to successfully carry out their roles; support their development, with particular consideration to succession planning.

1 Effectively manage those reporting to the HRM, through supervision, development and two-way communication, which should include regular informal and formal review meetings together with positive and/or constructive performance management.

1 Work closely with colleagues in the HR team, such as Recruitment and Learning and Development, to demonstrate a united and proactive approach to supporting the business.

1 Drive engagement between the HR team and those carrying out HR/Admin functions at Sites, supporting Site colleagues by ensuring that they have the right skills and tools to carry out their HR duties, to the correct standards.

1 Professionally represent the HR department across the business, embedding the Company culture and values of the organisation, proactively contributing to employee engagement initiatives.

1 Work to agreed budgets, complying with Company financial procedures and policies; support budget and forecasting processes.

1 Keep up to date with HR practices and employment law, working with the CPO to ensure that the department is proactive in advising and guiding managers throughout the business around employee relations and commercial options, assessing and managing risk where appropriate.
